Business

The business major builds on the liberal arts tradition of Centre College to prepare the next generation of thoughtful and responsible business leaders.

Overview

By exploring a range of courses across disciplines, business majors at Centre will develop critical thinking skills and apply integrative approaches to creative problem solving, reflecting on their individual place and impact on business and society. Business majors will seek to understand the fundamental theories of business, practice communicating effectively to a variety of audiences, develop and employ skills relevant to business operations, apply knowledge of business in an experiential learning setting, and analyze the connection between business and society.

Curriculum

The curriculum requires the completion of fourteen courses consisting of two types, fundamentals and connections, and a set of electives from which students can choose to add depth in their areas of interest.

Major Requirements

Experiential Learning

Students engage in hands-on learning experiences and reflection to develop skills and increase knowledge retention.

Specialty courses are taught by successful entrepreneurs and business executives who share their knowledge and real-world experience. Specialized advanced business courses or electives include economics, finance, or accounting. Study abroad in Northern Ireland and Mexico.  

Internships

We're committed to helping students find quality internship experiences in the career area of their choice.

Business internships provide valuable experience in the competitive workforce and options range from Revolution Logistics, Burkmann Nutrition, United Trust Group, and Centre College football team.  

Careers

Our extraordinary liberal arts and sciences education prepares students for meaningful lives and careers.

Business majors find success in various industries as operation managers, analysts, product developers, brand managers, strategists, accountants, marketing managers, entrepreneurs, and consultants.
